On January 9, DA Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban and Assistant Secretary for Operations Arnel De Mesa convened a special meeting with Regional Executive Directors (RED) and Bureau of Plant Industry officials to discuss the export project plan.

The DA is preparing to expand durian production in the country in order to meet the Chinese market’s demand for fresh durian. Panganiban charged the concerned REDs with identifying prospective areas for expansion and developing the appropriate work and financial strategies to sustain durian exports during the meeting.
