PAGASA Says LPA, Amihan, and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that LPA, shear line and northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (January 7, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area spotted 1,000 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao. It will be affecting Mindanao. The Northeast Monsoon or locally known as Amihan will bring rains over several areas.

The Trough of LPA and the Shear Line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

The amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be moderate to rough.
