Alleged Depressed Father Poisoned His Own Boy Son to Death in Leyte

A 7-year-old boy died after being poisoned by his own father who allegedly suffered from depression in Leyte.

The 7-year-old boy from Mahaplag, Leyte, died after being poisoned by his own father. The young boy was eating a cake when he was poisoned by his father. Kyle Calusayan, a resident of Barangay Hiluctogan in Leyte, was identified as the victim.

According to the report, the young lad was brought to the hospital, but the medical staff was unable to recover him. According to the police, the suspect was identified as Joselito Calusayan, the young boy’s father.

Authorities revealed that Joselito allegedly fed his son a cake before administering the pesticide named ‘Brodan”. After a few minutes, the child got weak and lost consciousness.

According to the police investigation, the suspect may have suffered from depression as a result of his unemployment and losing his live-in partner. In the video released by the child’s mother, Layla Solis, you can see her neighbors helping each other to give the youngster first aid before being brought to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the kid died soon after arriving at the hospital. Meanwhile, Joselito is being treated at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center. The mother of the child defended herself. Their lives, she claims, have been threatened countless times.

“Maayos akong nagsusustento ako sa kanila every week tapos sa konting away o konting alitan agad niya akong tinatakot na papatayin niya mga anak namin dun sa Leyte,” said the victim’s mother.

“Hindi lang isang beses, maraming beses po. Alam po ng mga kapitbahay namin sa Leyte na palagi akong binagbantaan o tinatakot ng aking ka-live-in partner,” she added.

The defendant is charged with murder, but according to the boy’s mother, his live-in partner has yet to be imprisoned. Justice is the cry of the netizens for the child’s death.
