Ai-Ai delas Alas met Jovit Baldivio in PGT
Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas recalled her encounter with Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 champion Jovit Baldivino who recently passed away.
Ai-Ai was one of the judges of the defunct Kapamilya talent search. In a recent interview, the Kapuso star talked about her fondest memory with Jovit, based on the article in Newsko.
The comedienne shared that she really cried over Jovit’s story, especially when he said that he was crying when he was selling “siomai.” “Naawa ako sa kanya,” Ai-Ai said.
She said that it was because the late singer was small and petite but at he was striving to earn money, and this made her cry. “Kasi alam mo ‘yung naramdaman ko sa kanya na you’re so bless kasi kahit mahirap ka hayop ang boses. Parang lahat binuhos ng Panginoon ‘yung galing sa kanya,” Ai-Ai delas Alas said.
The comedienne really felt pity towards Jovit at that time. “Kaya kumbaga nu’ng araw nag-trending siya. Wala pa ‘yung word na sinabi kong binuhay niya ang katawang lupa ko. Kumbaga, ‘Ay, eto ‘yung magsu-siomai na magaling,’” she shared.
Ai-Ai also shared, at that time, she really said that if Jovit will not win, there will be a clamor as the public wants him to be the champion. The comedienne said that it was because the people really love Jovit because of his backstory and his talent.
When the singer passed away, Ai-Ai said that he was really sad, even though she did not cry, there is a certain sadness that she felt and this came with “panghihinayang” because Jovit was just 29 years old.
Meanwhile, Ai-Ai delas Alas has started taping for the Kapuso singing competition The Clash in which she is one of the judges. She is set to go back to the US on December 21 where she and her husband Gerald Sibayan is currently staying.
