Speaker Martin Romualdez filed the bill on November 28 which was approved by the committee on banks and financial intermediaries on December 1.

In a post from the Department Of Budget and Management, this act was backed by Economic Managers of the Marcos Jr. Administration. They strongly support this as they see this as a “vehicle to move forward the Agenda for Prosperity and achieve the economic goals of the administration”.

Moreover, they stated that it is a “tried and tested investment vehicle that has been used by governments in both first world and developing countries to achieve their economic objectives.”

And among those who authored this is Arjo Atayde.

To recall, Atayde won the May 2022 elections as the Quezon City 1st district congressman. He then joined the Nacionalista Party (NP) and was sworn in by House Senior Deputy Majority Leader and NP member Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos.

Apart from Atayde, the other authors are Rep. Sandro Marcos, Rep. Yedda Romualdez, Rep. Martin Romualdez, Rep. Mannix Dalipe, Rep. Stella Quimbo, Rep. Joey Salceda, Rep. Camille Villar, Rep. Albert Garcia, Rep. Janette Garin, and among others.
