Alden Richards talked about how they did the ‘Kalyeserye’
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards said that everything about AlDub was organic when he and Maine Mendoza did the Kalyeserye segment on Eat Bulaga.
The tandem of Alden and Maine was indeed phenomenal. When they were paired together in the longest-running noontime show, the viewers warmly embraced them, and then, the AlDub Nation was born.
During a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Alden was asked why his love team with Maine clicked even though there was no romance between them in real life.
“Everything that people saw about AlDub was organic … that’s what we wanted to show. We didn’t have a script for that whole ‘Kalyeserye’ thing, so Maine and I just played along with it,” the Kapuso actor explained.
He said that his and Maine’s dialogues were not rehearsed or planned ahead. The only thing that was planned was the gist of the Lolas’ jokes and what they are supposed to do in a certain episode.
“Everything was based on impulse or improvisation, which probably explains why the story that developed felt so organic,” Alden Richards shared.
He also said that there was no retention in what they did and they were not fooling themselves. That is the reason why their reactions were raw when they first met each other because that was actually their first meeting. That is also why it was called “Tamang Panahon.”
Alden stressed that eventually, he and Maine wanted to tread different paths. Their plans were different and they both understand that they can’t force each other to follow the path they want to walk on.
“Huwag ipilit or baka you’ll end up fighting or having a misunderstanding. So, we opted to go our separate ways as friends,” Alden Richards said.
To recall, in an interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Maine reiterated that there is no truth to rumors that she and Alden are married and have a child. The actor has addressed this issue also.
