Hannah Arnold’s Filipiniana Gown Inspired By Her Favorite Childhood Toy
HANNAH ARNOLD – Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold said her national costume for Miss International 2022 is inspired by her favorite childhood toy.
After Gemma Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Rose Santiago (2013), and Kylie Versoza (2016), Hannah Arnold is vying for the Philippines’ seventh Miss International crown.
The 60th Miss International will take place on December 13 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall After being postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic—first in 2021 and then again in 2022. At the conclusion of the competition, Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand will crown her successor.
Hours before the long-awaited Miss International 2022 coronation night, Hannah Arnold made an ode to a childhood doll while dressed in a dazzling Maria Clara national costume. As seen on her Instagram page on Tuesday, December 13, the Binibining Pilipinas International beauty queen resembled a real-life Barbie doll in an intricate cornflower blue Filipiniana designed by Manny Halasan.
The photos were taken by Raymond Saldaa at the Quezon City event venue Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

Hanna Arnold’s “favorite toy,” which her mother gave her when she was young, was referenced in the Maria Clara gown, also known as the “Pamana (Heritage)” gown.
“This national costume was inspired by Hannah’s favorite toy (gifted by her mother) as a child: a Barbie wearing a Maria Clara Filipiniana, which Manny Halasan took inspiration from and mixed it with his own fond childhood memories of his grandfather’s antique tambourine.”
According to Hanna’s Instagram post, the designer defined the Filipiniana as a national costume that encourages the audience to “remember our childhood experiences and look back on our past.”
