The Volleyball players of Choco Mucho Flying Titans who ignored their fans during their out-of-town trip are still hotly discussed on social media. Many well-known personalities have expressed their thoughts about the behavior of the said players.

Quezon City 5th District Councilor Aiko Melendez was among those who gave her advice and opinion for newbies as she was in the showbiz industry for several decades before entering politics. The actress/politician took to Facebook to post about the issue of celebrities snubbing or ignoring their followers.

“My take and View sa pagiging snob ng mga artista. Ako kasi kapag me bumabati sa akin o magpapapicture kahit gaano na ako kapagod pinagbibigyan ko. Ang rason ko lagi hindi naman naten alam kung first and last encounter mo na du’n sa taong ‘yun eh so ‘yung mga simpleng gestures like saying HI! Or pagbigyan ng picture taking ok lang yan,” she shared.

Aiko added that there are situations when a celebrity can politely turn down a request for a photo. Aiko also emphasized that a simple hi or granting photo ops to fans would do, unless unfavorable circumstances happen.

“So ung mga simpleng gestures like saying ‘Hi!’ Or pagbigyan ng picture taking ok lang yan. Hindi naman kawalan sa pagkatao nyo yan. Pwera nalang kung Asa ER ka ng hospital at hindi naman tama ang right timing pwede ka tumanggi. Lahat me right timing eh,” she stated.

She also explained that artists, politicians, athletes, and influencers are considered Public figures. She also appealed to give credit to their fans who idolized them. Aiko suggests that if celebrities want their fans to respect their private time, don’t go to public places. Otherwise, they can’t really avoid being noticed by their fans.

“Tandaan Humility! Fame is all temporary but the right attitude lasts a lifetime,” she stressed in her Facebook post.
