Here’s Why Carla Abellana Chose To Keep Quiet About Her Divorce
CARLA ABELLANA – Kapuso actress Carla Abellana gave an explanation of why she chose to keep quiet about her divorce.
Following her broken marriage, Carla Abellana is currently going through a lot. Just a few months after she and her ex-husband Tom Rodriguez got married, they got divorced.
In June 2022, Tom confirmed that he and Carla were divorced. The actor previously expressed his “panghihinayang” and how fast their marriage ended after many years of dating.
Just recently, Carla Abellana admitted that it’s not easy to deal with divorce when you’re a public figure. She also revealed what she went through when she faced divorce.
The 36-year-old celebrity shared this on Camille Prats’ YouTube channel. Carla said she chose not to talk about their separation to avoid saying bad words.
“I tried my best talaga na hindi magsalita and to stay silent kasi hindi naman din sa ayaw ko, pero I owe that din to myself. Less is more kasi baka may masabi kang hindi maganda,” she said.

Carla Abellana also admitted that there was a time when she compared herself to other actresses who also went through this ordeal. According to Carla, she feels that she has left out details that should not be made public.
“Kung tutuusin I’ve seen other celebrities na talagang zero na ano ba ilang taon bago nakapagsalita about whatever they went through. Ako nga feeling ko I even shared too much or said too much…”
“Feeling ko lang naman na parang did I give away my privacy or some details na hindi dapat? Honestly, hindi madali ‘yun. You keep quiet and stay silent,” she added.
For Carla Abellana, as a public figure, people also think that every detail in their lives should be known. She said this is the sad part of being a celebrity.
“Sometimes the public, they feel like you owe them an explanation or answers. Kailangan din naman na mag-explain tayo lalo na let’s say sa mga managers natin or whatever, mga management ng network, ‘yung mga ganoong bagay kasi ayaw mo rin naman silang leave in the dark.”
“Gustuhin mo man to keep quiet but it’s also very hard for us, in our industry and career natin,” said Carla.
