Juliana Gomez is satisfied with her performance during the fencing championship
21-year-old fencer Juliana Gomez, the daughter of celebrity-politicians Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, talked about her recent fencing victory in Thailand.
It is a known fact that Richard and Lucy are among the prominent personalities in the entertainment industry before they eventually ventured into the political arena. With their status in showbiz, it is expected by many fans that their daughter Juliana will eventually follow in their footsteps.
However, Juliana has become more inclined to sports. In a previous interview, Richard shared that it is a conscious effort on his part not to show his awards in acting and sports to his daughter because he does not want her to be persuaded by these in choosing what she wants to do.
It is the personal choice of Juliana Gomez to be a fencer and just recently, she bought honor to the Philippines. She won the Thailand Open Fencing Championship. Juliana said in an interview, based on the article in PEP, that she was confident during the game and it is because she really prepared for it.
“Siguro dahil may tiwala ako sa skill ko dahil nagti-training naman ako araw-araw. Tapos confident ako sa mga galaw ko noong araw na iyon. I was just lucky that I was able to win. But this is just the start and I have more to work on to myself,” she shared.
Juliana also shared that the training was difficult because she did it while still doing things for school. On the other hand, she said that she did not feel pressure despite the fact that her father was a fencer and the head of the Philippine Fencing Association.
She said that she got a “tremendous amount of support” from her parents. Her boyfriend Miggy Bautista, who is also a fencer, helped in coaching her. Julia Gomez’s father proudly shared a video of her winning moment.
