A TikToker drew flak from the online community after his content dance in an escalator exit raised concerns from netizens.

The video was purportedly posted on TikTok by the content creator known as Simon Says Vlog, who has over 9.2 million followers. However, it was removed. Following the online buzz, numerous Filipinos raised worry for mall patrons’ safety, stating that the content creator’s activity would result in an accident.

Other people also complained that the author of the content annoyed them. Nina Cabrera, a fellow influencer and CEO of a beauty brand, was one of those who responded.

“Not these “influencers” being a potential cause of accidents on an escalator,” said Nina in her post.

Even the content creator Gaia Poly is said to have been whispering to Simon, who is better known as Simon Says Vlog on TikTok, for a long time. She claims that she watches Simon’s video to strike a balance between her hatred and happiness.

“Matagal na yan makulit, tuwing masaya ako pinapanood ko lang video nya para maging balance yung poot at kasiyahan sa buhay ko. Kumbaga pinanganak sya para bwisitin ako,”Gaia Poly said.

Many online users are speculating as to whether Simon received permission from the mall management to create such content. Here are some of the responses from online users:

“This is why I get irritated when I see people who do their TikToks in public especially at malls, sagabal na nga, hazard pa,” a Twitter user said

“Sa lahat ng areas sa mall na pwede magpapampam, sa escalator landing pa niya talaga napili. Kaloka,” a netizen said.

“You’re not being creative with your content actually, nagiging nuisance ka sa mga pagkakataon na to. Go, home dude,” an online user said

While the other video of Simon dancing near the escalator has had over 5,802 views as of this writing, Simon’s dancing video has received over 111,000 views. Simon has already removed the video, but he hasn’t commented on what happened at the mall.
