A Former Yaya is Now a Licensed Teacher After Getting the Top 1 in LET

A lady who formerly works as Yaya (nanny) to fund her college studies is now a licensed teacher after passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and getting the No 1 spot.

Before achieving her aim of becoming a licensed teacher, Maricris Colipano, 26, had an incredible journey. Maricris, a native of Brgy. Upper Natimao-an, Carmen, Cebu was Top 1 in the held March 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) elementary level.

She received a 92.40 percent. She is a graduate of the Carmen Campus of Cebu Technological University (CTU). The diverse experiences that make up Maricris’ life story are full of lessons that young people can learn from.

Her father worked on a farm. The barangay health worker is her mother (BHW). According to the PEP article, Maricris delayed starting college after graduating from high school due to the difficulties of life. She began her career as a nanny.

She started working at a business in Danao City when she reached 18. She saved money for her studies in addition to assisting her parents with her costs. Maricris began attending college in 2016. She had just turned nineteen.

She earned a cum laude degree in May 2019. In order to prepare for the LET, Maricris registered in a review facility, but she was only able to take part in online coaching and read her study materials.

She also frequently views YouTube videos about online coaching. She admitted that her younger sister was the reason she only learned she was Top 1 in an interview with Maricris of the Cebu Daily News.

The exam results were released on Friday, April 29, 2022. Maricris expressed her shock at the news, as she had anticipated the results on May 9. When her brother shared the outcome from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) website on his social media account, she demonstrated that she is in fact a top performer.
