PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (November 24, 2022)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone will trigger rain in five areas in the country.

On Thursday (November 24, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental.

“Patuloy na umiiral itong intertropical convergence zone, o ang pagsasalubong ng hangin mula sa northern at southern hemisphere sa malaking bahagi ng Mindanao. Ngayong umaga pa lamang, may nararanasan na tayong thunderstorm activity,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Moderate coastal water condition is expected over extreme Northern Luzon while the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

Villamil said that PAGASA is not monitoring any low-pressure area in and around the country.
