Vic Rodriguez Reacts To Being Expelled from Marcos Jr.’s Party

Partido Federal Expels Atty. Vic Rodriguez due to “Incompetence as Public Servant”

VIC RODRIGUEZ – The former Presidential Secretary reacted to being expelled from the political party of President Bongbong Marcos, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

One of the people who worked closely with now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos since the election campaign period is Atty. Vic Rodriguez. He was the spokesman of the then leading presidential race candidate.

After Marcos Jr. secured the presidency, Atty. Rodriguez was appointed as the executive secretary. However, shortly after, his name was dragged in the controversy surrounding the import of sugar. Malacañang Palace deemed it “illegal”.

In September, the Palace announced that Rodriguez is no longer the spokesman and lawyer of Pres. Marcos. A month after it, he announced that he completely exited the Marcos administration.

Recently, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas released a statement announcing that they dropped Atty. Vic Rodriguez from the political party. The officials cited “incompetence as a public servant, conduct inimical to the interest of the party, abuse and breach of trust and confidence repose on him by the President and the party” as the reasons.

The decision of the party has reached the President who, based on reports, did not object to the decision of the party to expel his former spokesman and secretary.

Recently, Atty. Vic Rodriguez reacted to the decision of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s party to expel him. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the lawyer expressed that it did not bother him and it is not a loss to him.

“Wala naman sa akin iyon. Hindi naman kawalan,” he said.

However, based on the report, Atty. Rodriguez stressed that the internal matter within the party should have not been discussed publicly. He further expressed that the move is not helping the President.

“Instead na ako ang bigyan ng kopya, binigyan ang media. Anong layunin? Hiyain lamang ako. Hindi ako papayag,” he said.

According to Rodriguez, he cannot understand why the party needs to release a statement to the media with just “simple reorganization”. He claimed that his expulsion is due to his refusal to grant the members of the political party positions in the government because they allegedly lack the qualifications.
