Vic Rodriguez Dropped by Marcos Jr.’s Party “Partido Federal”

PFP Expels Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Pres. Bongbong Marcos Didn’t Object

VIC RODRIGUEZ – The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, the political party of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, dropped the former presidential secretary.

One of the individuals who played a huge role during the election campaign of now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos was lawyer Vic Rodriguez. He was his spokesperson then. Being the usual person to answer press queries and speak about the campaign events of Marcos Jr., he undeniably rose to fame.

After Marcos Jr. won, Rodriguez became the executive secretary. He was also the presidential chief of staff. Being the “Little President”, he was linked to presidential appointments. There were accusations that corruption took place but the lawyer debunked the allegations.

However, the name of Atty. Vic Rodriguez was dragged on the controversy on the Sugar Regulatory Administration’s approval for imports which the Palace called “illegal”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in September, Malacañang announced that Rodriguez has resigned as the lawyer and spokesman of the President.

In October, Rodriguez said that he has completely left the Marcos administration. Recently, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, the political party of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, dropped Atty. Vic Rodriguez.

Based on the report, PFP stated that Rodriguez’s expulsion is due to his “incompetence as a public servant, conduct inimical to the interest of the party, abuse and breach of trust and confidence repose on him by the President and the party”. Pres. Marcos Jr. was told about the decision of the party and did not object to expelling his former spokesman.

With regards to the political party of the President, it is stated on the decision that Marcos Jr. will not leave PFP and be part of another party. Instead, he will strengthen the party,

PFP also reacted to the accusations against Rodriguez regarding the appointments. According to the party, no original member or official of PFP was recommended by the former Executive Secretary to any position in the Marcos administration.
