ITCZ to Bring Chances of Rains Over Parts of PH, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that there are low chances of tropical cyclones in the country until the weekend.

On Wednesday (November 23, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting the southern portion of Mindanao.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with isolated rainshowers entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. Most parts of the country will have generally fair weather condition with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.

“Wala pa rin tayong namo-monitor na low pressure area. Hanggang weekend, maliit pa rin yung tsansa na magkaroon tayo ng bagyo, at ito pong intertropical convergence zone ang nakakaapekto partikular na dito sa southern portion ng Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

The weather agency has also warned the public about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over will be moderate. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA also reported that there are no low-pressure areas being monitored. There are slim chances of tropical cyclones in the country until the weekend.
