PAGASA Says ITCZ and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone and shear line will bring rains over parts of Luzon while the rest of the country will have fair weather condition.

On Monday (November 21, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. The Shearline will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon.

The ITCZ and shear line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Palawan, Quezon, Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“Dahil sa shear line, magdadala ng maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm sa Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora at aabot pa iyan ng Isabela at Cagayan. At dahil naman sa ITCZ, ang Palawan province ay magiging maulap ang kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
