PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (November 18, 2022)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the combined effects of the intertropical convergence zone and the low-pressure area will bring overcast weather and rain in some areas.

On Friday (November 18, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and LPA will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the LPA embedded within the ITCZ has been last spotted 245 kilometers east of General Santos City. The LPA will be affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Quezon, Northern Samar, and the southern portion of Aurora.

“Malawak ang impluwensya ng pinagsamang epekto nitong LPA at ITCZ, so buong araw, asahan natin na mararanasan natin itong maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat, dito sa buong Mindanao, buong Visayas, at sa malaking bahagi ng southern Luzon area,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.

The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will experience similar weather condition due to the localized thunderstorms.

The localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
