6 Teenagers Who Destroyed Christmas Decoration in Barangay Hall Issued Public Apology

Six teenagers have issued a public apology after receiving criticisms from netizens for destroying Christmas decorations.

Last Tuesday (November 15, 2022), the video footage of six drunk teenagers who destroyed Christmas decorations immediately spread like a wildfire online and garnered negative reactions from internet users.

The young people went wild and start to pull some parol and pushed a Christmas tree filled with lights and decorations in front of a barangay hall. The video enraged the netizens and even reached various government agencies.

The police authorities launched an operation to locate the culprits. However, the six teenagers went to the Cordova Police Station and voluntarily surrendered. The young guys admitted their mistakes and apologized for their wrongdoings.

“Malaki po ang aming nagawang kasalanan kaya humihingi po ako ng sorry, paumanhin po sa aking nagawang kasalanan,” a member of the group said.

Barangay Cogon officials will not file a case against the culprits but will impose corresponding sanctions and penalties since Christmas is coming next month.

The suspects will be required to repair the damaged Christmas decorations and assist with the installation of other materials.

Cordova Police Station Chief P/Maj. Michael Gingoyon also reminded the public to drink moderately and avoid drinking alcoholic beverages if they could not control themselves.

“Kung sa tingin natin, lasing na tayo, tapos hindi na natin ma-control an gating sarili kung lasing tayo, huwag na lang tayo iinom,” Gingoyon said.
