PAGASA Says LPA & ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone and a low-pressure area will bring rain over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (November 17, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been last spotted 200 kilometers south southeast of General Santos City outside the Philippine area of responsibility. The LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.

Asahan natin na within the next 24 hours, ang pinagsamang epekto nitong ITCZ at nitong trough o extension nitong low pressure area ay magdadala ng maulap na kalangitan at kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkulog, pagkidlat, sa bahagi ng buong Mindanao, dito sa Palawan, sa malaking bahagi ng Visayas at sa Bicol Region,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao and Palawan. It would bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Bicol Region, Palawan, Quezon, Aurora, Isabela, and mainland Cagayan will experience similar weather condition.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas, Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila, and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
