Bernadette Sembrano Proud of Other Job as a “Mangangalakal”

Bernadette Sembrano Shares She Works as Mangangalakal Aside from Broadcasting

Veteran broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano shared she is proud of being a “mangangalakal” as her other job.

Who would have guessed that TV Patrol anchor Bernadette Sembrano is also a trader, or “mangangalakal,” in addition to being a well-known newscaster in the nation. Bernadette claims that she and her husband, Emilio “Orange” Aguinaldo IV, the grandson of former President Emilio Aguinaldo and former vice mayor of Kawit, Cavite, make their living from a junk business.

The business of Bernadette Sembrano’s husband, Orange Aguinaldo, was discussed. In Ogie Diaz’s interview with her, she said a few things, including this. Bernadette says she admires her husband’s skill to separate rubbish, which they prefer to refer to as “goods.”

They genuinely think there is money in the trash, she emphasized. Orange’s work once led to someone mistaking him for a janitor.

“Kasi at that time nasa public office siya. Tapos may dala-dala siyang kalakal. At sabi sa’kin ni asawa, ‘it keeps me humble.'” Bernadette recall.

Bernadette believes it is improper for them to refer to the aforementioned job as “lang” because trading and littering are both acceptable. She claimed that her husband who was still a government employee, he had seen someone purchasing scraps in front of their home, which gave him the idea to open a junk shop.

Bernadette never felt bad about it. In fact, it is claimed that she is “humble” because of this. She explained “I like doing it. Kasi nakakatulong ka, kumikita ka. And it keeps me humble.”

“Saan ka naman nakakita ng news anchor na nagpupulot ng basura? Ako lang gumagawa nun,” she proudly said.

“But in essence, other people are doing it. And we’re wasting it, nagiging basura talaga siya. Pero walang gumagawa dahil hindi class? Ewan ko, hindi ko alam. Pero it’s something that we should be doing,” she added.

The Kapamilya broadcaster likewise believes that picking up rubbish is not something to be ashamed of if you care about the environment and other people. Many people claimed that they would not become wealthy through business but believed that this was what they should do to protect the environment.

For all that her husband has taught her, Bernadette is incredibly appreciative. In addition to the simplicity of their lifestyle, her husband is credited with making her the better person she is now.

She claims she has nothing to be ashamed of because she knows she is not stepping on anyone else’s toes, regardless of what other people say about who she is and what they do.

“Sa buhay, huwag natin ikumplika. Alam naman natin yung tama at mali. Babalikan mo lang kung ano dapat at kung sino ka. Basta wala kang tinatapakan. Basta honest ka, basta ginagawa mo para sa ibang tao,” she said.
