Blazers Jimboy Pasturan to Undergo Checkup After Suffering Black Eye Due Punch on JRU’s John Amores

JOHN AMORES – Saint Benilde Blazers Jimboy Pasturan will undergo a checkup after suffering a black eye from the incident.

Over the past few days, JRU basketball player John Amores has been the headlines of different local media outlets and various social media pages after starting an ugly brawl during the NCAA Season 98 men’s basketball tournament.

Amores who has been dubbed as ”Most Violent Player” got entangled on the floor with CSB’s CJ Flores during the fourth quarter of the match. He also had a shouting match with someone on the opposite bench.

The player charged to the opposite bench and go on a rampage after losing control of himself. He punched at least three players from St. Benilde Blazers during the ugly brawl.

The JRU player punched Jimboy Pasturan in the eye and Taine Davis in the jaw. The victims suffered injuries due to the incident prompting NCAA to stop the game, which makes Blazers victorious.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has suspended Amores indefinitely for his inappropriate behavior during the match. Other players who were involved in the brawl have been also suspended for one up to two matches.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu said that his two players will undergo checkups for further assessment. Davis feels dizzy after getting hurt while Pasturan suffered a black eye due to the punch of Amores.

“Jimboy got a big black eye. Taine Davis got sucker punched, he didn’t do anything. He was dizzy for a while. Those are the two guys who got hurt, Oczon, who wasn’t doing anything, got punched. Thankfully, they’re okay but we’ll take them to the hospital to see if they sustained anything worse,” Tiu said.
