CHRISTMAS 2022 MALL HOURS – For the upcoming holidays, this is going to be the new schedule of malls in Metro Manila.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced new and adjusted mall operating hours in Metro Manila. This is in preparation for the upcoming holidays this year.
The adjusted mall hours will be implemented in all shopping malls and not only those along EDSA. The adjustment was agreed upon by the MMDA and mall owners and operators.
A consultative meeting was done MMDA New Building in Pasig City and the new operating mall hours is from 11 in the morning until 11 in the evening. This will start in Novermber 14, 2022 until January 6, 2023.
According to a report from PEP, Acting MMDA Chairman Romando Artes added apart from the new mall schedule, “Mall-wide sales will be only allowed during weekends. Also, deliveries will be from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. only. Exempted from the regulation are deliveries of perishable goods, restaurants serving breakfast, and groceries.”
Shopping mall operators will have to submit their traffic management plans including the dates of their sales and promotional events two weeks ahead of the scheduled events.
Present during the meeting are representative of malls like Robinsons, SM Malls, Araneta Center, Greenhills Shopping Center, Ortigas Shopping Center, Trinoma, Vertis, and among others.
Excavation activities along the streets of National Captial Region (NCR) will be prohibited from 12:00 a.m. of November 14 until 12:00 a.m. of January 6, 2023. Exempted in this rule are the government projects and projects of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
