Rod Cornejo, Deniece Cornejo’s Uncle, Speaks on Case of Niece Vs. Vhong Navarro

DENIECE CORNEJO’S UNCLE – Rod Cornejo spoke on the case filed by his niece against Vhong Navarro saying “no retreat, no surrender”.

Model-stylist Deniece Cornejo and Showtime host Vhong Navarro remain in the middle of their legal feud. The model who claimed that the actor-comedian took advantage of her back in 2014 during a condominium incident filed charges against him.

Navarro is now detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The wife of the Showtime host revealed that the recent happenings triggered the traume of her husband again. They were not expecting the latest events to happen. A warrant of arrest against him was released a few days after they celebrated their wedding anniversary.

For his part, Navarro claimed that he was the victim in the incident. He filed a serious illegal detention case against Cedric Lee and his companions who allegedly hurt him. Lee filed an appeal to dismiss the charges filed against him by the Showtime host but the Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) junked it. He took it to the Court of Appeals.

The Court of Appeals released its decision on Cedric Lee’s appeal for Vhong Navarro’s case to be junked. The Court dismissed the appeal.

Currently, Vhong Navarro remains detained at NBI and a petition to bail is being heard. Deniece Navarro appeared as witness during the 4th bail hearing at Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the actor-comedian’s camp is hopeful that the Court will allow him to post a bail.

Attorney Howard Calleja, the legal counsel of Cornejo, said that the bail hearing is not yet over and Cornejo will testify again on November 10, 2022. Deniece Cornejo’s uncle, Rod Cornejo, commented on the ongoing legal fued between his niece and the actor.

“No retreat, no surrender! Imagine 8 years kang nakabitin, nasira ang career mo, lahat ng mga negosyo mo naapektuhan, then 6 months ka nakakulong? Compromise? Hindi tama,” Deniece Cornejo’s uncle said.

Based on the report, Atty. Calleja stressed that the hearing of the cases continue and there are no arrangements between the two (2) camps. More updates may be posted soon.
