Maine Mendoza was one of the big stars of this generation who auditioned for PBB
Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza recalled the time when she auditioned for the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
PBB has become a stepping stone for many Kapamilya stars to be part of the entertainment industry such as Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, Gerald Anderson, Maris Racal, and many more.
Maine was one of those who tried to be part of the reality show. She auditioned for the PBB 737 edition of the show which was the sixth main season. At that time, Miho Nishida was hailed as the big winner.
In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Maine Mendoza revealed that she auditioned because there was an offer. This came after her dubmash videos went viral. The Eat Bulaga host said that she won’t audition on her own if there was no offer because she believes that she does not have what it takes to be an “artista.”
The Phenomenal Star also said that it is a misconception of many people that she is outgoing and like the life of the party. Maine said that in real life, she is a shy person.
She recalled that she really went to the audition venue and this happened from 5 am to 11 pm. Maine was able to reach the final stage of the audition as she was able to meet Direk Lauren Dyogi, who is one of the people who makes decisions in the show.
In a previous statement, Direk Lauren expressed “panghihinayang” that someone like the Phenomenal Star just passed by his attention. However, the director believes that it was not Maine’s fate to be part of PBB.
The Kapuso star also believes that she has a different fate and that she was meant to be part of Eat Bulaga. Maine Mendoza believes that she might not reach what she has now if she was able to be part of PBB back then.
