LTO Revoked Licenses of 2 Reckless Drivers Involved in Hit-and-Run Incidents

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) revoked the driver’s licenses of two (2) reckless drivers involved in hit-and-run incidents.

Two drivers who were involved in separate accidents in September had their licenses canceled by the LTO. In Parañaque City, the two drivers were found responsible for running over a street sweeper and hitting two children, one of whom died.

Reckless Drivers Licenses Revoked

The suspects have been named Raymond Zapirain and Rodolfo Cudiamat by LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division and LTO National Capital Region (NCR) – West. They had violated the “Reckless Driving and Improper Person to Operate Motor Vehicles” complaint.

A P2,000 fine was also imposed on Zapirain and Cudiamat. According to the regulatory office, they were permanently prohibited from obtaining a driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle.

“Both were meted with a fine of ₱2,000 for the Reckless Driving infraction. Both drivers were instructed to turn over their licenses to the LTO NCR-West Traffic Adjudication Section,” according to the LTO.

According to the LTO, Zapirain is the registered owner and driver of the SUV that struck Doreen Bacus, 63, a street sweeper, and critically injured her on September 24 in Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City. The street sweeper was working on the side of the road when Zapirain abruptly bumped her, as seen on CCTV footage of the event.

Then the car ran over the victim after being dragged by it. On the other hand, Cudiamat ran into a three-year-old child who was critically hurt on September 20, based on the report. A three-year-old died as a result of two kids being struck by Cudiamat’s car when they were strolling along.
