Herlene Budol Recalls Working As Waitress While Still Studying At School
HERLENE BUDOL – Bb. Pilipinas 2022 first runner up Herlene Budol revealed she worked as waitress at the age of 17.
Herlene ‘Hipon Girl’ Budol is a Filipina actress, comedian, tv host, and social media star who broke through in showbiz as a contestant on the variety show “Wowowin.”
Hipon later became a host on Wowowin but had to leave it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was first runner-up and won several minor awards at the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant.
Herlene Budol is now preparing for her participation in Miss Planet International 2022 as the country’s representative. The pageant will be held in Uganda this coming November.
Before flying to Uganda, the 23-year-old celebrity was interviewed by tv host Luis Manzano on “Luis Listens.” Hipon disclosed during the interview that she used to work as a waitress while still studying at school.

Herlene Budol shared her ordeal she went through before achieving her dream. In her interview, she looked back on her experiences in life. One of them is working as a waitress at the age of 17.
“Ako natutulog kasi ako sa school dati. Kasi galing ako ng trabaho tapos doon ako natutulog sa school. Kaya siguro depende sa teacher natin o sa pangalawang magulang natin kung paano tayo mamandohan…”
“Papasok ako alas singko ng hapon tapos uuwi ako ng alas singko ng umaga. Ang pasok ko sa school, alas siyete. Hindi na ako uuwi. Dadaan na ako sa school tapos aantayin ko na magliwanag,” she added.
Herlene Budol was still studying at the time, so she sacrificed enough sleep to adjust her time between studies and work. She even came to school drunk because she was guaranteed tips from her customers when she takes shots at the bar where she worked.
“Waitress pa ako nun. Lasing pa ako nun. Kapag shuma-shot ka kasi, may tip eh,” she said.
