PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (October 22)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Obet is on its way out of PAR, which will bring a fair weather condition nationwide.

On Saturday (October 22, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. Fairweather condition is expected in some parts of the country.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Obet has been last spotted 135 kilometers west-southwest of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

A period of slight intensification remains possible over the West Philippine Sea as the tropical depression continues to move away from the country,” PAGASA said.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 1 remains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. Gale warning is still active over Batanes, the northern coast of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, and the northern coast of Ilocos Norte.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region.

The ITCZ/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Rest of Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA said that fairer weather with chances of rain in the afternoon or evening is expected over some parts of the country.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
