Pig Owner Expresses Disappointment After Hog Gives Birth to Only 1 Piglet
Bantay, Ilocos Sur – A pig owner has expressed her disappointment after her hog gives birth to only one piglet.
Pigs or often known as swine, hog, or domestic pig is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-toed, hoofed mammals. It is usually used as livestock and farmed primarily for the production of meat, called pork.
Recently, the hog owner identified as Concepcion Paino shared a photo of a sow giving birth to only one piglet in Bantay, Ilocos Sur. The post immediately spread like wildfire online and elicits comments from the netizens.
In the photo, it can be seen that the hog gives birth to only one piglet. However, the incident is quite odd because a mother pig usually gives birth to a litter of piglets. Paino’s pig has actually given birth to eight piglets in the past.
Concepcion has expressed her disappointment due to the incident. The woman stressed that she spends a lot of money to feed and take care of the pig for several months.
“Dismayado po kami kaso nga lang, yun lang ang naibuga… malaking panghihinayang kasi pagod, pera puhunan kasi pinakain milk maker…” Paino said.
A pig technician explained that it is possible that only one egg cell developed during the pig’s pregnancy.
The pig owner claimed that she will continue to take care of the pig and its piglet. She is hoping that her pig will make it up to her in the future.
