LUPANG HINIRANG PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM – Here is the lyrics of the national anthem of the Philippines which is “Lupang Hinirang”.It was in 1898 when Julian Felipe composed the music for Lupang Hinirang, the national anthem of the Philippines. Its lyrics is from the poem of Jose Palma in 1899.In English, the Philippine National Anthem is “Chosen Land” or “Land of the Morning”.Previously, Philippine Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III was thinking of proposing the revision of the lyrics of the national anthem of PH.The Senator wanted the last part of the song changed from  “ang mamatay nang dahil sa ‘yo” to “ang ipaglaban kalayaan mo”.

The proposal of Sen. Sotto took the social media by storm. Undeniably, it elicited negative reactions from the people and was not pushed through.Back to the current lyrics of the Philippine National Anthem, usually it is given as an assignment to students in schools.
