MMFF 2022 MOVIES – Metro Manila Film Festival finally bares the eight official movies for this year’s film festival.

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has announced the four additional films in its lineup which completed the eight official entries for this year’s film festival. Its 48th edition is to be held in December.

The first batch of films was determined based on script submission while the final and second batch was picked based on finished film formats. There were 22 films submitted to the organization but only eight made it to the final and official list.

MMFF selection committee headed chose according to these criteria: artistic excellence (40%), commercial appeal (40%), Filipino cultural values (10%), and global appeal (10%).

  • “Labyu with an Accent” starring Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria, ABS-CBN Film Productions
  • “Nanahimik ang Gabi” starring Ian Veneracion and Heaven Peralejo, Rein Entertainment Productions
  • “Partners in Crime” starring Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi, ABS-CBN Film Productions
  • “My Teacher” starring Toni Gonzaga and Joey De Leon, TEN17P
  • “Deleter” starring Nadine Lustre, Viva Communications Inc.
  • “Family Matters” starring Noel Trinidad and Liza Lorena, Cineko Productions Inc.
  • “Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told” starring Edu Manzano, Aljur Abrenica and JC De Vera, Borracho Film Production
  • “My Father, Myself” starring Jake Cuenca and Dimples Romana, 3:16 Media Network

MMFF’s theme this year is “Balik Saya sa MMFF 2022”. The film festival will run from December 25, 2022, to January 7, 2023. MMFF Gabi ng Parangal will take place on December 27 while the Parade of Stars will be hosted by Quezon City. The official date for the Parade of Stars is yet to be announced.
