Aiko Melendez shared her love story with Jay Khonghun
Kapuso actress Aiko Melendez revealed that her boyfriend Zambales First District Representative Jay Khonghun asked this question about her ex-husband Jomari Yllana.
In a recent interview for her new series Flower Sisters, based on this video on the Pika Pika YouTube channel, the third part of Mano Po Legacy, Aiko was asked to share her love story with Cong. Jay. She said that he has been sending direct messages to her on Instagram for many months.
However, the actress said that she was just ignoring the politician because his profile picture was a cartoon character. Aiko also said that it was not a big deal to her when Cong. Jay said he was the Subic mayor back then. The politician was also asking if they could meet.
One day, Aiko Melendez needed to do something in Subic and so she remembered the guy who kept on sending messages to her who also claimed to be the mayor of Subic. The actress replied to the message from Jay and she wanted to meet him and ask for help.
The Congressman traveled from Subic to Quezon City and waited for three hours at their meeting place. Aiko said that at that time, she changed her mind and just thought that she can do what she needed to do without the help of the mayor and so she decided not to come.
“Nakusensya ako, sabi niya, ‘maam darating pa po ba kayo?’ Naghintay siya ng three hours,” Aiko shared. She eventually went to their meeting place and they exchanged numbers.
When asked about her first impression of the politician, Aiko said that he is a very simple person although Jay came from a prominent political family in Zambales. Aside from this trait, the actress said that her boyfriend is “nakakatawa.”
Aiko recalled that initially, she thought that whatever they had will never get to the next level because Jay asked him about Jomari. “Nakakatawa kasi siya eh. Unang ano niya sa akin, tanong niya sa akin, ‘maam bakit di kayo nagkatuluyan ni Jomari?'” Aiko shared.
With that, the actress said to herself, “ay, ekis ka na sa akin.” It was because she had no intention to talk about Jomari but she needed to mention him because of that story. However, Jay Khonghun became persistent after that and the rest is history.
