South Korean producer Yu Sang-won praised the Pinoy version for wonderfully showcasing the story with the Filipino flavor. He also commended the production of the Pinoy version and the lead stars of the series.

Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, here is the statement from the executive producer of the original series.

“We were pleasantly surprised at how well the Philippine version of Start-Up was produced. It was impressive… How GMA Entertainment Group put in efforts to satisfy both the original fans and the local audience.

This goes the same with the cast… The overall look and feel and the cinematography of the local version were similar to that of the original version so that Filipino fans will feel familiar, yet the local production team creatively devised/adapted the story to meet the expectations of the local audience.

Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo added their own charm to the characters.”

Hearing these positive words from Yu Sang-won, Alden expressed his gratitude. He said that it is an honor for them to be part of the Filipino version. The actor also said that they hope that they will also inspire the Filipino audience as how the South Korean version became an inspiration to many people around the world.

Bea added that the positive comments on social, especially from the fans of Start-Up make her so happy.

Start-Up PH is airing from Mondays to Fridays, at 8:50 p.m. The series can also be watched on Kapuso Livestream and GMA PinoyTV.

Previously, veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis claimed that South Korean producers of Start-Up complained that Bea Alonzo was the lead actress in the Pinoy version. Allegedly, the producers of the original series said that Bea looks too old for the role. However, GMA slammed this claim that Lolit made against Bea.
