Imee Marcos to Buy ‘Nutribun’ Using Maid in Malacañang Profit

Imee Marcos Says ‘Maid in Malacañang’ Profit Will be Use to Buy Nutribun

Senator Imee Marcos will be using the profit from the controversial film ‘Maid in Malacañang’ to buy lots of ‘nutribun.’

Senator Imee Marcos’ office would concentrate on providing nutribun now that she has received cash from the film directed by Darryl Yap. She claims that this is actually a nutribun legacy project.

“Dahil kumita ‘yung sine, nabayaran na kami, magfu-full blast na kami sa nutribun. Talagang ‘yung legacy project of the nutribun,” said Marcos at the Pandesal Forum this Friday, October 14.

“‘Yung food inflation has been horrific and as we know it hits the poor much harder than anyone else because 60 percent of their monthly spend go to food,” the Senator emphasized.

Imee Marcos Nutribun

You may recall that Imee has been advocating for the continuation of her father, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. nutribun’s program ever since she took office. The stated program is to fight hunger and malnutrition, based on the report of Remate.

The senator stated that they will concentrate on children under the age of three and expectant moms. Additionally, Marcos made it clear that today’s nutribun will be acquired locally and handed to kids, unlike the nutribun that was delivered in 1970 by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

“There are certain areas where we know the malnutrition rates are very very high… We’ll be distributing, ‘yung tututukan natin is yung first 1,000 days, 3 years old and under and mga buntis, dun ‘yung brain stunting, di na nag-de-delveop ‘yung utak ng bata. Kawawa naman,” she said.
