Ex-Wife of Koko Pimentel Jewel Lobaton Arrested after Accused of Estafa
Police authorities arrested the ex-wife of Senator Koko Pimentel Jewel Lobaton after being accused of estafa.
According to a report, last Monday saw the arrest of former beauty queen Jewel May Lobaton in Laoag City. The report added that Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III’s ex-wife was detained on October 10 for violating Estafa Article 315 2(a) of the Revised Penal Code.
Since September 28, 2018, Lobaton has been the subject of an active warrant for arrest before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 226 in relation to Criminal Case No. R-QZN-18-12259. Judge Manuel B. Sta. issued the warrant for the arrest. Jr. Cruz
The bond set for Pimentel’s estranged wife’s short-term release is set at P48,000. After getting married in 2000 and having two boys together, Pimentel and Lobaton started living apart in November 2011.
In January 2018, their marriage was declared null and void. In 1998, Lobaton was named Binibining Pilipinas-Universe. In her first year as the party-list Batang Pinoy’s first nominee, Lobaton also tried her hand at politics.
However, the aforementioned group was one of the party-list groups that the electoral authority delisted in December 2021 before the official ballots for the 2022 elections could be printed. Regarding his ex-lawsuit, wife’s Koko Pimentel has not yet made any statements.
