Piolo Pascual shared what he admires about Paulo Avelino
Flower of Evil actor Piolo Pascual revealed how his co-actor Paulo Avelino portrayed his role in the series.
This series is the first project that Piolo and Paulo did together. Former Kapuso actress Lovi Poe is the leading lady and viewers have lauded her expertise in doing the action scenes.
Paulo made a surprise appearance in the series that really shocked many viewers but his portrayal of the role of the real Jacob del Rosario. Piolo also shared how his co-actor would prepare for his role before the take.
In a recent interview for the finale episode of the series, based on the article in PUSH, Piolo Pascual admitted that they felt pressured in making the Pinoy version of the hit South Korean series.
“Coming into the show there was too much pressure because this is going to be an adaptation so there’s expectations, there’s going to be bashing of course and there’s going to be judgment, comparison and everything,” Piolo said.
On the other hand, he said that there is an advantage to this. As it is an adaptation, they already know the story and how it is going to end. With this, they already have a guide on where the story would go. “So we kind of had a guide as to how we could do it differently. So that was the advantage of it,” the actor said.
Piolo also shared that Paulo is easy to work with. Even before they started the taping, they were already able to break the ice between them during their workshop. Piolo also highlighted Paulo’s commitment to this craft. He said that Paulo would isolate himself before the shoot to prepare for his role.
“He didn’t watch the show. He didn’t watch the Korean version because he really wanted to do a different take. And the kind of commitment that he gave, talagang matatakot ka sa set,” Piolo Pascual said.
He added that no matter how long the scenes were, Paulo would not complain. Piolo also said that his co-actor is very supportive and he would them to their limits which is a good thing. Papa Pi also said that this was a collaboration and he is wishing for more of this to happen.
