Alleged Robber in Iloilo City Got Arrested After Lady Victim Fights Back

The 28-year-old lady victim identified as Cathryn Tolentino beats the alleged robber who attempted to steal her valuables.

The Facebook page “Bombo Radyo Iloilo” reported that a lady resident fought back and mauled an alleged robber who tried to steal her valuables in Luna Street, La Paz, Iloilo City. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.

Tolentino narrated that a man robbed her at knifepoint on Luna St., La Paz while heading to her cousin’s boarding house. The suspect suddenly grabbed her neck and declared a holdup.

The 28-year-old culprit identified as Angelo Pelobello told Cathryn to pretend as her boyfriend and dragged her on the sidewalk. Tolentino fought back and was able to tackle the suspect using her training in taekwondo. The two fell to the pavement while grappling.

Unfortunately, Pelobello was able to get the victim’s Realme 6I mobile phone worth P8,000 and fled towards Magdalo village.

Several residents and a motorcycle rider in the area helped to chase the holdup suspect. The rider informed the village officials and watchman who were roving patrol during that time.

The authorities were able to corner barefooted Pelobello after almost an hour of hot pursuit in La Paz, according to Iloilo City Police Station 2 investigator Staff Sergeant Angel Lemery, Jr.

Lemery said that charges of robbery hold-up have been filed against the suspect at the Iloilo City Prosecutors’ Office.
