Billy Crawford continues to be supportive of Vhong Navarro
Singer-host Billy Crawford was the last person to talk to It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro before his cellphone was taken from him at the detention center.
Due to the warrant of arrest for the rape case filed by Deniece Cornejo with no bail recommended, Vhong is not being detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The camp of the model stressed that the actor-host should be detained at the Taguig City Jail as this is where the hearing would take place.
With this plea from Deniece’s camp, Tanya Bautista, the wife of Vhong Navarro, expressed that she fears for the safety of her husband if he will be transferred to Taguig City jail.
Aside from Vhong’s wife, his friends have been showing support for him as well. One of them is Billy Crawford, who was one of the hosts also of It’s Showtime before he transferred to TV5’s Lunch Out Loud.
In a recent Showbiz Update vlog of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, he said that even though Billy is no longer in Showtime, his friendship with Vhong is still intact. Ogie also shared that he was able to talk to Billy and the latter expressed how sad he is about Vhong’s current predicament.
The singer-host who is also part of the current season of Danse avec le stars (Dancing with the Stars) in France said that he dedicated his last Friday’s performance to Vhong. “Para kay Kuys Vhong ‘to,” Ogie shared what Billy said.
“Sabi nga ni Billy nakausap niya si Vhong bago siya tanggalan ng cellphone,” the talent manager shared. Ogie said that Billy was encouraging Vhong to be strong. This means that until now, the two male celebrities have communicated with each other even though they haven’t worked together for a while.
However, it was revealed by Ogie Diaz that Vhong Navarro has a friend who did not answer him when he was trying to ask for help. The talent manager did not reveal the identity of the said friend of Vhong.
