Willie Revillame is rallying behind Vhong Navarro
Wowowin host Willie Revillame has helped and will continue to help It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro amid his legal battle against model Deniece Cornejo, veteran entertainment writer Cristy Fermin said.
Vhong was detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) because of the arrest warrant with no recommended bail that was issued against him for the rape case filed by Deniece.
Amid this controversy, the Kapamilya star has been receiving support from his fans and fellow celebrities. His wife Tanya Bautista is in all-out support for him as well. Just recently, based on the article in Balita, Cristy shared that even Kuya Wil is ready to support Vhong. “Handa raw tulungan ni Willie Revillame si Vhong Navarro sa kaniyang kinahihinatnan,” she shared.
The veteran entertainment writer also said that even before, Willie Revillame was already helping Vhong Navarro. Cristy recalled the time when the Kapamilya noontime show host was hospitalized back in 2014 after the encounter he had with the companions of Deniece.
When the veteran host visited Vhong at the hospital, the former gave a check worth P1 million. Willie told the Kapamilya host to transfer to a bigger room.
“Ang sabi niya kay Vhong, ‘Lipat ka ng kwarto, ‘yung mas malaki. Kasi napakaliit nito, kapag sabay-sabay na dumalaw ang mga kasamahan at kaibigan mo, mapupuno.’ Tapos ‘yung mga doktor, parang magkakapalitan na sila ng mukha. Nag-iwan ng isang milyon na tseke si Willie Revillame, hindi lang po ngayon. Noon pa man po,” Cristy Fermin shard.
The veteran columnist also said that even though Vhong was not able to thank Willie for his generosity, the latter did not hold it against the younger host.
Meanwhile, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, the lawyer of Deniece Cornejo shared that their camp has prepared to file contempt charges against Vhong Navarro’s wife Tanya Bautista and his lawyer Atty. Alma Mallonga for their “statements that are sub judice in nature.”
