Japan Re-open the Mass Tourism on October

Covid-19 Restrictions in Japan will be Lifted for Foreign Tourist

Japan will lift travel restrictions for foreign tourist and re-open the boarders next month after two years and a half because of pandemic.

The pandemic, according to Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who was speaking at the New York Stock Exchange, has impeded the free flow of people, goods, and capital that has enabled the country to prosper.

Based on the report of GMA News, Kishida said that, “But from October 11, Japan will relax border control measures to be on par with the US, as well as resume visa-free travel and individual travel.”

Japan and China have been the only countries to continue imposing tight restrictions on tourists when the majority of the world has recovered from the pandemic. Japan, however, did not implement a rigorous lockdown throughout the crisis, in contrast to China.

The report also mentioned that, visitors visiting Japan will benefit from a weak yen, which has fallen so far below its 1998 low versus the dollar that the finance ministry intervened in the currency market on Thursday.

The reinstatement of the visa-waiver program, which was put on hold in March 2020, will bring back the accessibility that allowed a record 31.9 million foreign visitors to enter the nation in 2019.

Japan has eased its restriction that visitors travel in groups with advisers since June and now accepts self-guided package excursions as well. According to James Brady, Japan analysis lead at US-based consultancy Teneo, the cautious approach to reopening has been planned.

In total, there have been about 42,600 coronavirus deaths in Japan, which is a much lower number than in many other nations. Ninety percent of people 65 and older have had three doses of the vaccination.

A lot of Japanese were willing to wear masks while ill even before the pandemic, despite the fact that there is no rule requiring individuals to do so in public places like trains and shops.

Although the resurgence of mass tourism might boost Japan’s economy “somewhat,” Brady said the advantages are probably constrained by China’s zero-COVID-19 policy.
