Come To San Carlos City, Negros Occ. For Pintaflores Triathlon On Nov. 20
PINTAFLORES TRIATHLON – Pintaflores Triathlon organizers invite triathletes to compete in the race slated on November 20, 2022, in San Carlos, City, Negros Occidental.
San Carlos City is highly renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and cleanliness and the Pintaflores Festival. This city is also known for the pristine sand beaches of Sipaway Island.
The organizers of the inaugural Pintaflores Triathlon invite Cebuano and Cebu-based triathletes to join the race slated on Nov 20, 2022, at the Park Marina in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Everybody is aware that triathlons consist solely of swimming, cycling, and running. Based on a report from Cebu Daily News, Jose Angelo Cosas, one of the organizers of the Pintaflores Triathlon, said that the San Carlos LGU and the San Carlos Association of Mountain Bikers (SCAMB) are inviting Cebu-based triathletes to join the race.
“Our LGU and Team SCAMB is inviting all Cebu based triathletes to join the fun. Our race distance will cater to the veterans and newbies to the sport…”
“Since our Race distance is modified, our main goal is to simply bring fun to all of our participants. We will make the race course enjoyable and unique. Also, they will get to enjoy the festivities of the Pintaflores Festival, the food and the friendly people of San Carlos,” said Cosas.

According to the report, the Pintaflores triathlon will have a modified one-kilometer swim leg, a 30-kilometer bike leg, and an 8-kilometer run leg. It is a triathlon event that is comparable to both a 5150 and a sprint triathlon. It serves as both a test of skill for newcomers and a leisurely race for seasoned triathletes.
Cosas stated that due to public pressure, they chose to hold a normal triathlon in San Carlos City as opposed to the customary off-road triathlon.
“We have been doing off-road triathlon races for five years and the clamor to do the tradiational triathlon is something we cannot ignore. We accomodated the request of most triathletes especially those from our neighboring towns and cities,” he added.
They hope to attract 200 triathletes, but they will accept more if there are more triathletes who want to sign up. Cosas further stated that participants, particularly those from San Carlos’ adjacent cities and towns, will enjoy the city’s major tourist attractions in addition to their Pintaflores Triathlon competition.
Of course, the top triathletes in the men’s, women’s, and relay categories will also take home prizes. The winning triathletes in the elite men’s and women’s divisions will each get P10,000, P7,000 for second place, and P5,000 for third.
The winning relay team will receive P8,000, followed by the second-place team with P6,000 and the third-place team with P4,000.
The event will include nine age categories.
The registration will begin on September 15 until October 20, 2022. The solo registration price is P2,500, while the relay registration fee is P6,000.
