Motorcycle Rider Claiming To Be Police Officer Tries to Pull Woman
A motorcycle rider has been caught on camera trying to abduct a woman in Caloocan after introducing himself as a police officer.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) in Caloocan City captured a motorcycle rider following a woman on Alma Jose Street in Barangay 177. The rider introduced himself as a cop and tried to convince the woman to get on his motorcycle.
“Sabi niya po, maraming masasamang tao dito, hatid na kita, sinabi na niya po, pulis ako. Sabi ko ulit, hindi na po, magje-jeep nalang po ako, Du’n na po niya ako hinablot sa braso tapos pinapasakay niya po ako sa likod niya po,” the victim said.
The victim was repeatedly followed by the man, but she avoided him. The man attempted to pull the victim onto his motorcycle as they approached the corner after getting off the motorcycle.
Barangay Councilor Artemio Acosta Jr. said that the suspect is not a resident in the area. The incident happened around 6:00 am last Sunday (September 4, 2022).
Caloocan City Police chief Police Colonel Samuel Mina Jr. also advised the public to be more vigilant of their surroundings to avoid similar incidents. The Caloocan police will continue to investigate the incident to arrest the suspect.
“Mag-create siya ng scenario na makaka-attract ng attention para hindi man agad maka-aksyon ang pulis ay may bystander tayo na responsable namang tutulong. Lalo na kung ang biktima ay bata o babae, maging alerto, maging mapagmatyag,” Mina said.
