Fake Government Employee Using OVP to Solicit Money Arrested

Man posing as fake employee of government offices arrested for soliciting money from a Mayor in San Jose del Monte (SJDM), Bulacan.

After posing as an Office of the Vice-President (OVP) staffer to collect money, SJDM police detained a 41-year-old man. The suspect allegedly attempted to demand money from Bulacan Mayor Florida Robes’ office while working for the SJDM.

Even the Department of Social Welfare Department (DSWD) Region 3 office was utilized by the suspect, based on the report. P/Lt. SJDM’s acting police chief Col. Cresenciano Cordero Jr. identified the suspect as Joel Calis y Gaspar, also known as “John Carlos Lo” and “JC Lo,” a resident of Caloocan City.

When posing as an employee of Vice President Sara Duterte-office, Carpio’s the police claimed he also identified himself as the vice-president of RNA Foundation Philippines Inc. Mayor Arthur Robes personally confirmed from the OVP office that the man was bogus and unrelated to their office.

Mayor Robes added that the man was wering a blue polo shirt bearing the OVP emblem. The suspect allegedly solicited for money at Robes’ office to be utilized to benefit single parents, people with disabilities (PWD), and senior citizens in the city

Robes called the police right away and reported the fake government employee. The report led to his arrest. The SJDM mayor filed a case of usurpation of authority against him.
