Miss Universe Pageant For Sale At P1 Billion – Report

MISS UNIVERSE – The most prestigious and publicized beauty pageant is reportedly up for sale at P1 billion, according to a news article.

The annual international beauty pageant Mis Universe was founded in 1952. It is one of the two most well-known beauty pageants in the world.

Women from all around the world compete in the said pageant to represent their home countries. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu is the current Miss Universe.

Recently, the Miss Universe organization announced that wives and moms are now allowed to join the pageant starting in 2023. In a previous article, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray shared her thoughts on the recent memo.

“I think it’s really timely to allow women in whatever capacity to go after the dream of being a Miss Universe,” she said.

And while she supports the idea, the Pinay beauty queen acknowledged that it would be a challenge for a mom to balance her current role with the responsibilities of being a Miss Universe.

Based on a report from New York Post, the MU pageant is for sale for $20 million (more than P1.1 billion). The current franchise owner, Ari Emanuel’s Endeavor is allegedly struggling to find a buyer for his struggling beauty pageant business in the last 6 months. Endeavor also owns the MMA league UFC.

The report alleged that the world’s biggest beauty pageant is losing 2 million dollars annually. “A person familiar with Miss Universe’s financial situation told The Post the organization — which includes Miss USA and Miss Teen USA events — books $2 million in losses annually, while generating revenue between $7 million and $9 million,” the report said.

Endeavor bought MU from former US President Donald Trump in 2015 before Trump ran for the presidency.
