LGUs Declare Class Suspensions Over Parts of PH Due to Florita for Tuesday (August 23)

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in some parts of the country due to the inclement weather condition caused by Severe Tropical Storm Florita.

Over the past few days, Tropical Storm Florita continues to bring an inclement weather condition throughout the entire archipelago. Florita has been last spotted at 120 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

Florita has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 115 kph and central pressure of 992 hPa heading North northwestward at 10 kph.

Class Suspensions

On Tuesday (August 23, 2022), various local government units have ordered the suspension of work in government offices and school classes due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Florita,

The weather disturbance is expected to make landfall over the vicinity of the east coast of either Cagayan or northern Isabela this morning or afternoon.

The cancellation of classes have been declared to secure the safety of both students, teachers, and employees.
