In a post on his Facebook account yesterday August 2, Jimmy Bondoc revealed that his studio was engulfed in fire. He said that it burned down about P1 million worth of the instruments and equipment he uses as a musician.

The 47-year-old singer also gave a glimpse of his damaged studio. Among the equipment he showed on social media were broken guitars, drum set, and musical keyboards with melted keys.

Just had a fire in my studio. We are safe. But lost so much of the equipment I have worked so hard for over the years! The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. I am blessed to be alive. Asking for your prayers,” he wrote.

In his Facebook Live video, Jimmy did further damage assessment and showed the place where the fire first started. Despite having lost his music equipment, Jimmy told his viewers not to give him money. He urged them to donate to his friends Jemelee Tanedo and Atty. Bruce Rivera instead. Tanedo is now battling cancer while Rivera is in a coma and has medical debt amounting to P1M.

“Siguro po, I lost a million pesos worth of equipment. Ang dami tuloy gusto tumulong…”

“‘Wag niyo sana isipin na nagpapaka-‘banal’ ako pero yung gamit, kakayod na lang ako para mabawi,” he added.
