MJ LASTIMOSA – Here’s MJ Lastimosa’s reaction to Herlene Nicole “Hipon Girl” Budol’s performance at the Binibining Pilipinas 2022.

Herlene Nicole “Hipon Girl” Budol represented the Angono, Rizal at the Bb. Pilipinas 2022 pageant. The coronation night was held on July 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. It was hosted by beauty queens Catriona Gray and Nicole Cordovez.

Many were amazed at Hipon’s transformation after she joined the pageant. It can be remembered that because she is not fluent in speaking English, she said that she will use Tagalog when she answers the questions.

At the Bb. Pilipinas’ announcement of Top 12, the hosts asked the candidates how they envision the Philippines in the next 6 years. Hipon Girl said, “Kapatiran o sisterhood, yan ang aking natutunan sa Binibining Pilipinas na tinuro sa amin ni Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach na kailangan nating magkaisa lalong-lalo na para sa ating bansa.”

At the top 12 Q&A portion, the Kapuso star was asked, “What has been your biggest transformation since you joined and how could this make you deserving of a crown tonight?”

She said, “Para sa akin, isang karangalan na nakatungtong ako dito sa Binibining Pilipinas bilang isang binibining hindi inaasahan. Para sa akin, ang sarap pa lang mangarap. Walang imposible. Isa po akong komedyante na laki sa hirap at ang aking transpormasyon ay magbigay ng inspirasyon because I know for myself that I’m uniquely beautiful with a mission.”

In a previous article, ‘It’s Showtime’ host Vice Ganda reacted to Hipon Girl’s powerful statement during the Q&A portion. He said watching Hipon at the Bb. Pilipinas stage made him feel emotional.

Even Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa commended Hipon. The former beauty queen took to Twitter and expressed appreciation for how her fellow Kapuso star used the Filipino language in her answer.

“Ganyan nga Nicole Budol normalize using our language in Philippine beauty pageants, coz why not?!!!! #BinibiningPilipinas2022,” MJ wrote.
