Paulo Avelino talked about his role in a K-drama adaptation
Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino admitted that he is not a fan of K-drama although his most recent project is adapted from the hit South Korean series Flower of Evil.
Paulo surprised a lot of fans when his character was introduced in the series previously promoted with Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual as lead stars. He shared that his character in the Filipino version of the series is very far from his personality.
The fact that this project is different from the previous one that he did, which was a romantic comedy series with Janine Gutierrez, titled Marry Me, Marry You, Paulo Avelino did not have any hesitation to say yes to his role.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, he was asked if he watches K-dramas since his new project is a Filipino version of a K-drama. The actor admitted, “K-dramas really aren’t my cup of tea.”
On the other hand, Paulo said that he watches South Korean movies. “I watch Korean films more often, like Bong Joon-ho’s The Host or Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance,” he shared.
The actor also mentioned that the films and series from South Korea are gaining worldwide attraction because of the support that the entertainment industry is getting from their government. He pointed out that this aspect can be learned by the Filipinos as well. Paulo also noted that South Koreans are very proud of their race.
Meanwhile, Paulo Avelino also shared that aside from his unique character in the series, the fact that he will be working with Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe also gave him excitement. “It was a treat to work with them,” he said, adding that Lovi and Piolo are both health conscious and so people with them would be motivated to work out also.
