RICA PERALEJO – Miscarriage does happen and this is the story of Rica Peralejo when this heartbreaking thing happened to her.
Every strong and empowered person got their strength from their experiences. It’s the hard experiences that teach someone to be strong. And over the weekend, in the latest post of former actress Rica Peralejo, she shared a secret that she has been keeping.
She suffered from a miscarriage and the past four weeks for her were hard. The pain of losing a child is unbearable. According to her narrative, it was a little before Father’s Day that she found out she was pregnant again.
It was initially odd at first because she’s already 41 years old. When she missed her period, the first thought that came into her mind was pre-menopausal symptoms. However, there’s a force in her telling her something.
She took a pregnancy test and it was negative. But the second time she did, which she did because she was feeling something different that was pushing her, it gained a positive result. She was positive. She was surprised and was in disbelief because she and her husband were not trying to have another baby. This made the pregnancy an unexpected.
“Ito siguro ‘yung first time na hindi kami nagta-try pero merong nakalusot. In fact prior to this accident, my husband and I were talking about the different options of not getting pregnant anymore kasi we were feeling na nga the age,” she said.
She messaged her OB about it before actually telling her husband. She asked for a piece of advice on what to do next because prior to this, she already had a couple of miscarriages.
The former actress added, “[My husband and I] already know the drill na kapag nabubuntis ako, hindi naming pwedeng agad agad i-embrace ‘yung pregnancy as though it’s going to happen because we know that there is a possibility of losing that.”
Although she already had an inkling that this pregnancy would be another loss after suffering from some contractions, she did not entirely lose hope. She embraced it. But when asked to undergo some tests to see what could be wrong, her doctor discovered something.
An ultrasound showed that she has a sac minus the embryo inside it and ever since then, she felt less pregnant. An embryo did not develop and they had to accept that it’s not gonna develop anymore.
