John Lloyd Cruz has a new venture
A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz added a new feather in his cap as he was chosen as the Cinemalaya 2022 official photographer.
For more than two decades, John Lloyd has proven his caliber in acting. He has done various genres of acting projects that has proven his versatility. The awards and recognition that he received over the years are proof to his remarkable talent.
Just recently, John Lloyd had a new achievement. He was named by the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival organizers as the official photographer of full-length and short film entries this year, based on the article in the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
This 2022, his role in the film festival is not an actor but a photographer which showcases the other side of his artistic personality. “He is official portrait photographer of the 11 filmmakers in competition,” John Lloyd Cruz.
The director also shared that it was painter-photographer MM Yu, the 2009 recipient of the 13 Artist Awards of CCP, who recommended the A-list actor for this job.
Millado shared on Facebook the behind-the-scenes photos of the photoshoot that John Lloyd did with the people behind the entries this year. Director Zig Dulay, one of the filmmakers who has an entry, shared the excitement he felt having the A-list actor as his photographer.
“Mga kapitbahay, kalma! Hindi ako ang salarin, at hindi rin ito sa SOCO pero utang na loob minsan lang mangyari ‘to — model ako ng The John lloyd Cruz! Yes, mga marites, si Popoy nga!” Dulay wrote.
A “photographer reveal” post was shared on the official Facebook Page of Cinemalaya on July 20. The post narrates that every year the film fest organizers are inviting photographers to do the photoshoot and this year is a unique one because an actor was chosen to take the photos of the entries.
